Xitron and Acti Cameras to Demonstrate Direct-To-Screen Workflow at ISS
Screenmaker Pro Workflow powered by Xitron Navigator Harlequin RIP to be shown in Acti Camera Booth 1354 and Saati Booth 1934
Ann Arbor, Michigan/Long Beach, California – January 16, 2012 – Xitron, the prepress industry's leading independent developer and integrator of Raster Image Processors, RIP management software and workflow solutions and Acti Cameras, a world recognized manufacturer of high quality, precision, process cameras since 1969, announced that the Screenmaker Pro RIP and workflow for the Legend direct-to-screen systems will be demonstrated at the ISS Long Beach Show, January 20-22 at the Long Beach Convention Center in the Acti Camera booth 1354 as well as in the Saati booth 1934.
Screenmaker Pro drives the Legend 2800 DTS designed for textile printers requiring fast, high quality screens; the Legend 4800 DTS designed for graphics printers requiring high resolution screens; and the new ActiFilm Pro that produces positive and negative film for offset, flexo, and screen printing. Screenmaker Pro is based on Xitron’s powerful and robust Navigator GPS Harlequin RIP workflow with features including:
- High performance Harlequin RIP core
- Direct-to-screen Legend 2800 or 4800 DTS system driver
- Ability to accept PDF and PostScript™ files
- Variable droplet 1- and 2-bit halftone screening
- Selectable resolutions of 360 dpi, 720 dpi and 1440 dpi
- Line screens up to 85 lpi
- User controllable job management and tracking capabilities
- Integrated on-screen soft-proofing
- Output device control at operator workstations
“The Legend DTS system provides the screen printing industry a high quality, high precision and automated direct-to-screen system,” stated Larry DeBusk, President of Acti Cameras. “The Screenmaker Pro RIP Workflow offers features that enhance screen printing operations by automating many of the prepress steps which have traditionally been done manually by screen printers.”
“Xitron’s workflows based on the Navigator Harlequin RIP have become the standard for customers requiring a reliable, affordable, and high performance solution,” stated Mark Eisenschenk, Xitron's President and CEO. “The Screenmaker Pro RIP Workflow encompasses the best features and options found in Xitron’s commercial and in-plant offerings where we are a recognized leader in workflow.”
The Screenmaker Pro RIP Workflow includes Mac and PC clients and support for one Legend DTS. Additional clients are available as well as the ability to support multiple Legend DTS systems from a single workflow.
The Screenmaker Pro RIP Workflow incorporates sophisticated on-screen soft-proofing tools that allow the user to see the final processed job. Included is the ability to select the substrate color and to define any color as an opaque, such as a white underbase, so jobs can be viewed accurately on colored substrates.
The integrated soft-proofing viewer is adjustable from 5%-800% magnification, allowing the user to inspect the file in a processed format. Jobs can be viewed as a composite or any combination of single or multiple separations.
The Screenmaker Pro RIP Workflow will be available exclusively through Acti Cameras’ Legend DTS dealers. For more information on the Screenmaker Pro RIP Workflow, visit Xitron’s website at www.xitron.com/screenmaker.
