RIP Manager.jpgNavigator GPS is an efficient solution for small and mid-sized printers who are looking for a dependable RIP combined with the ability to control and preview jobs from other desktops on the network. Based on Harlequin RIP core technology, Navigator GPS is easy-to-use, powerful, responsive, and compatible with hundreds of output devices, Navigator GPS also gives you the full backing and support of Xitron. We build solutions that are not only reliable, but can be a lasting foundation for years to come.

Navigator GPS includes Xitron’s Navigator Workflow Server, which helps to increase productivity, manage your workflow, and reduce costs. An intuitive interface allows multiple operators to manage their work from any Windows or Macintosh workstation on the network, while the Navigator Workflow Server directs output production through up to five RIPs.

Drag and drop functionality, in addition to traditional job submission methods, make the Navigator GPS workflow very simple to use. Navigator GPS is modular and expandable, providing a PDF option that includes PDF creation, preflight controls, and the ability to incorporate Certified PDF™.

The Navigator Workflow Server adds increased control of the RIP to the desktop, further reducing the need for specific page setups. Users have the ability to select, trap sets, image rotation, color separation sets and page features. Output device icons allow users to more easily determine the output device in user for a specific workflow. The icon will automatically be displayed based on the device chosen in the PageSetup. These enhanced capabilities make Navigator GPS an even more powerful tool for any prepress professional’s desktop.

Cost Effective

Reduces wasted plates, paper, and redo’s. Navigator GPS with RIP Manager typically pays for itself in under 12 months.

Efficient

Any workstation on the network becomes a window on the workflow. Operators no longer have to physically go to the RIP to make changes or see job progress.

The minimum recommended requirements shown are for nominal loads. Additional RAM, additional or faster processors, faster and/or larger hard drives may be necessary to achieve optimal speed and throughput. Use the minimum specifications provided as a starting point. Final PC configuration is an end-user decision based on budget, workflow and speed requirements.

All configurations assume the customer will require and specify some form of network connectivity such as 100-base Ethernet. Although it may be possible to operate the workflow with less than the minimum, Xitron recommendations are based on providing the customer with a system to meet their production demands.
