PDF Workflow Resource

Optional PDF workflow actions turn RIP Manager into a powerful PDF workflow which can control all of your output devices.

The PDF option includes Stabilizer, Preflight, and PDF Checker.Stabilizer converts incoming postscript to PDF using Job Options files (.dpf). You can use our ready made Job Options files by downloading them from the list below or you can make your own using our Stabilizer Job Options Utility.

Preflight will use Preflight Profiles to scan a job, flag any problems, and fix many of them. It also uses Action Lists to automate many repetitive tasks and file changes. It issues a problem report suitable for printing or emailing. You can use our ready-made Preflight Profiles and Action Lists by downloading them from the list below. You can also make your own using Pitstop Professional. Download the PitStop User Guide for information.

PDF Checker is a utility for screening jobs to ensure they have been created to a specific standard. If the jobs are made with a specified PDF Profile, they pass; if not, they fail. These profiles are the same ones you would use with Preflight. The combination of Stabilizer & Preflight constitute one type of PDF workflow. PDF Checker in the Prepress room and specified Preflight Profiles at the content creator's site constitute another type of PDF workflow.
